I work across the majority of the agency’s prospective and existing clients. I lead the strategic and activation proposals and then work closely with the client and agency teams to develop and implement on time and on budget.

I’m an integrated marketer with over 20 years experience gained leading teams in London for WPP (Ogilvy and Grey Worldwide) and independent agencies. I’m especially relishing the opportunity to work with Island brands to help them use marketing effectively to grow their businesses.

As an avid sailor, The Solent offers an exciting and challenging race course which in my mind can’t be beaten.

It’s a great backdrop to sit and enjoy a cold beer. Plus the sandy beaches are ideal to chill out on with a bbq and have a kick-a-bout.

For me, like being able to see the Spinnaker Tower and how when the tide goes out at Ryde, I feel as if I could walk to Portsmouth.

With over 30 years experience in financial administrations working for media companies I’ve helped to develop and manage the financial systems that have helped Solent to grow. I keep a close eye on the business to ensure we continue to operate within the latest financial and government requirements.

I enjoy going for walks along Ryde Seafront in the evenings, especially when the cruise liners are sailing past.

Working closely with my creative team colleagues, I am responsible for turning our ideas into a visual reality, from the initial concept to implementation. I have a love and comprehensive understanding of typography, layout, animation and art direction.

I combine my passion and talent for photography and work as Solent’s in-house professional photographer, creating beautiful and usable images for an increasing array of uses, from websites to advertising campaigns.

It’s a place to relax and wander along the coast, or dive right in for a brisk bit of fun. Overall, it’s a sense of home.

Working for Solent has allowed me to practise many aspects of copywriting, across a wide portfolio of clients. I write readable content for a range of print and digital media – be it blog posts, press releases, campaign and social, website copy and I also edit our own in-house publications. Writing is a passion and I feel very fortunate to do it for a living.

I love the Solent because…

I have grown up by the water and can’t imagine not living near the sea. A bbq on the beach looking out across The Solent is a great way to end a day.

During my career, I have worked in marketing, design and production for news corporations and high-profile beauty brands. My role at Solent allows me to combine these skill sets and enables me to lead projects from conception to implementation.

Running the daily operation of the office, I am involved in key areas from scheduling and briefing the design team, to implementing the logistics of our distribution. I love being able to utilise my experience across a wide range of creative disciplines into every working day at Solent.

I love the Solent for its ability to create an ever-changing view. Whatever the weather or season, there’s nothing like a walk around the coast to energise and invigorate.

For its secret summer pop-up bars and Pride celebrations on the beach, it truly is an island like no other.

As the senior designer at Solent, I am involved in all briefs that come through the door. I drive the idea creation and creative direction of campaigns.

Designing feels natural to me, I can’t imagine not creating something each day – be that a visual identity, a bespoke illustration or a full scale media advertising campaign.

Whenever I am away from it, I miss the calming effects of looking out at the horizon.

Working with clients ensures that there is never a dull moment. It is my responsibility to make sure that brand messages are always on-point and I am lucky enough to work with some fantastic brands and businesses, all who have their own unique needs. I have built up some excellent working relationships throughout my career thus far.

I relocated to the Island in 2010 after several years at global brand, Liz Earle, within the marketing department where I honed my skills within PR, brand, content and comms. I joined the Solent team as Client Account Manager, bringing my industry experience and successes with me.

I love the Solent because…

Being a city girl, I love sitting ‘on the deck’ at The Hut in Colwell Bay on an amazing Isle of Wight summer’s evening looking out over the water. Where else can you have a restaurant like this directly on the beach!

I have worked in sales for over 25 years, specialising in the tourism and leisure sectors, where everyday is different. One day I could be out on the road, meeting a wide variety of clients and customers, the next day I could be involved in a client event – I love the diversity of what we do.

As MD of Solent, I get to be involved in practically every element of the business, from implementing marketing strategy, to generating content in an ‘ideas meeting’. I work closely with our clients to make sure the talented team at Solent deliver the best possible results each time. I am charged with driving the growth of the business, our staff and clients.

I returned to the Island in 2009 after a career in brand marketing and destination management, which included a good stint at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit, as well as being the Head of Tourism for London, working directly for the London Mayor in 2002.

Back on the Isle of Wight, I set out to create a successful and forward thinking agency, where talented people could thrive. I am pleased with how much Solent has grown over the past five years and I am excited for the next five.

The Solent connects the Island with the rest of the UK, but keeps it just far enough away for us to be ourselves and retain some character and independence.
