New pocket guide will promote caravan and camping holidays

We were really pleased to have been asked by Visit Isle of Wight to produce a brand new ‘Isle of Wight pocket book of camping secrets’, it’s the official visitor publication for promoting new caravan and camping holidays to the Island. The camping and caravan sector is of enormous importance to the Island’s overall tourism economy and the plan is to increase our Island share of the UK market by promoting our camping, glamping, holiday parks and wild camping sites to families and couples who currently don’t choose the Isle of Wight for their outdoor adventure holidays.

Solent handled all advertising sales as well as production and artwork with copy written by Visit isle of Wight and some excellent design input from our friends at Words & Stuff. The full colour 36-page pocket guide will be distributed and promoted by Visit Isle of Wight and will hopefully raise the profile of the Island as the ‘UK’s camping capital’.

The printed guide is a ‘pocket guide’ format with an initial print run of 6,000 copies. Distribution will be through individual requests generated through Visit Isle of Wight’s advertising campaigns, camping stores and other retail outlets in the Midlands and the North of England, selected mainland Tourist Information Centres and featured at a selection of exhibitions that Visit Isle of Wight and our travel ambassadors will be attending from May 2016 onwards.

The pocket guide was landed on time and on budget and will be a significant part of the Island’s online marketing this year and a dedicated part of will be developed and extended to promote far more caravan and camping content, including a digital version of this new “Camping Secrets” guide.
